Moralis Introduces SDK to Support Cross-Chain Metaverse Development

Moralis, the backend development platform for blockchain, announced earlier this week the release of a Software Development Kit (SDK) to “simplify the development of Web3 games and metaverse applications.”

The SDK is plugged with game development environment Unity, allowing application developers to easily add Web 3.0 features to their Metaverse apps.

More than 65,000 teams use Moralis in order to support the backend of their Web 3.0 apps, which significantly speeds up development by “up to 10x.”

With its Metaverse SDK, which has been used extensively by early adopters, Moralis wants developers to “focus on creating their dApp and abstract away infrastructure development.”

Even though the space is still quite young, the Metaverse has become “a catch-all term for all kinds of exciting virtual interactions,” the update noted while adding that the metaverse is “what enables fans and gamers to meet online, artists to share their masterpieces and earn for their hard work, and many other uses.”

To take the future to the present and evolve the metaverse’s utility, the development of Web3 applications “needs to be as smooth and easy as possible, which means that developer tooling is one of the most important areas of R&D today,” the announcement noted.

As mentioned in the update, Moralis has considerable experience in “supporting Web3 applications and blockchain projects, and is now embracing innovation with the release of its Metaverse SDK.”

The SDK will be “integrated with the cross-platform Unity game engine, allowing programmers to build metaverse apps supporting all of Moralis’ chains and all important gaming platforms, including the web, Windows, Mac, Xbox, Playstation and others.”

The announcement also mentioned that programmers who use Moralis’ SDK are also “going to benefit from special features, such as the ability to sync all their items from Moralis-supported chains and use any wallet with WalletConnect in order to facilitate NFT trades in-game.”

The update further noted The Kit has already been “successfully used on the NFT platform SuperFarm and recently launched on Avalanche.”

lvan on Tech, Co-Founder of Moralis, stated:

“So this is a great time for us to introduce the Moralis Metaverse SDK. The SDK comes with crucial Unity integration and puts powerful metaverse game development capabilities right at the developers’ fingertips.”

Elliot Wainman, Co-Founder of SuperFarm, remarked:

“The preview of the SDK we’ve used has been a very critical piece in the development of the SuperFarm ecosystem. We believe the wider ecosystem will find it incredibly valuable. Moralis is an amazing full-stack tool that is allowing Polygon to reach more developers and bring more use-cases to the network,” declared Sandeep Nailwal, Co-Founder of Polygon. “We are excited to see what developers are going to build with Moralis’s Metaverse SDK on Polygon.”

Established last year, Moralis is a blockchain development platform “powering decentralized apps (dApps).”

Moralis aims to provide an “end-to-end blockchain application development platform, allowing developers and companies to focus on the front-end while handling the entire back-end.”
