Societe Generale Extends Collaboration with Surecomp to Support Digital Trade Transformation

Surecomp, which claims to be a market leader in international trade finance solutions for banking institutions and corporations, has confirmed that Societe Generale has now gone live with the latest version of its IMEX solution for back-office trade finance processing automation across four nations in Asia.

IMEX reportedly consists of an online, real-time processing and decision support system that addresses the complete range of trade finance instruments.

By leveraging this all-digital solution, the banking institution is enhancing its business operations and improving the overall quality of its customer service to corporates operating in the region.

The Paris-headquartered bank has been working with Surecomp in Europe in order to promote innovation for digitized trade finance to enhance customer service and support transaction growth.

The move to introduce IMEX across its Asian branches was taken after performing an extensive market review and marks the start of a journey to a Cloud-powered Open architecture, with communication to various other systems via a layer of advanced API connections.

After the overall success of this initiative, the Group will be focused on expanding its collaboration with Surecomp to India and other potential branches and subsidiaries.

Ivan Barel, Head of Trade Finance Transformation at Societe Generale, stated:

“We are extremely happy with the outcome of the Asian project. This is a key milestone in the creation of our global digital trade platform and in the pursuit of our transformation roadmap. The level of collaboration and responsiveness we get from working with Surecomp allows us to successfully and efficiently deliver these projects. The deployment of the API capability allows us to accelerate the client’s digital journey and use case strategy data, while optimizing our system interface environment. This will create added value for our clients while allowing us to future-proof our business.”

Yaron Hupert, Surecomp’s SVP of Account Management, remarked:

“Societe Generale is one of our flagship customers and our successful collaboration has been instrumental in the growth of both parties. Surecomp today is setting the new digital standard in trade finance with cloud solutions and API connectivity. With further collaborative innovation just around the corner, we are delighted that Societe Generale is extending its digital reach to Asia and beyond,”
