This is kind of interesting.
Talmon Joseph Smith, an NYTimes.com economic reporter, is Tweeting that at least some Twitter (NYSE:TWTR) employees are struggling with Elon Musk’s purchase of the social media company.
Quoting internal slack discussions, at least one employee said they “feel like im going to throw up..I rly don’t wanna work for a company that is owned by Elon Musk.”
The employee continues:
“I feel like he’s this petulant little boy and that he’s doing this to troll…he doesn’t know anything about our policies and what we do…his statement about our algo was fucking insane… “Were just gonna let everyone run amok?…nobody knows … a part of what I do is monitoring toxicity and health in the Trends…I don’t know if this will impact my job directly…I wanna still have a job and idk how this impacts that.” They added their “pretty broken”… “wish I had a nuanced take on it, but I’m just scared and sad.”
Dinesh D’Souza, a well known conservative commentator, outlined his expectations for Musk’s next steps as the owner of Twitter:
Three key steps for @elonmusk: 1. Fire the existing board 2. Welcome the exit of Twitter employees who “don’t feel comfortable” working there any more 3. Institute a free speech pledge—if it’s legal, you can say it
