MEW (MyEtherWallet), the platform to access the Ethereum ecosystem, announced the launch of its mobile NFT Manager “within the MEW wallet app, a user-focused way to access non-fungible tokens (NFTs) on the go with an iOS or Android device.”
App users “can now browse, purchase, and interact with NFT collectibles and decentralized domain names using the MEW.”
Despite the large amount of attention showered on the NFT (non-fungible token) asset class due to eye-popping sale prices of the most popular NFT projects, most NFT experiences are “lacking when it comes to usability.”
MEW’s mobile NFT Manager is “a direct response to the industry needing a more seamless and user-focused interface to make interacting with NFTs and the metaverse easier.”
MEW has “long been the primary interface for viewing and managing NFTs for thousands of users daily, and with the new mobile NFT Manager, it will continue to drive innovation by introducing new ways to connect users with NFTs and the metaverse.”
MEW’s mobile NFT Manager will launch with features including:
- Send/Receive NFTs on the Ethereum blockchain
- View & display your NFT collections
- Import wallet addresses to track NFT portfolios of other collectors
- Mobile integrations with OpenSea, Rarible and other popular NFT marketplaces.
Alex Komarov, Director of Mobile, said:
“NFTs have the most upside potential of any current crypto asset right now. From community engagement to art, and to where I am most excited—tangible goods, users will need a way to easily access their NFTs on their phones and on the go to prove ownership to others in the near future.”
MyEtherWallet plans “to update their NFT Manager to meet the most current needs of users as the asset class evolves.”
Crypto experts expect NFTs “to soon cover basic proof of authenticity, ownership, and property rights, to event tickets, memberships, voter registration, and access to the metaverse.”
Since 2015, MEW has been “an integral part of the Ethereum ecosystem and the leading wallet interface, providing anyone with free, open-source, and secure access to the Ethereum blockchain.”
MEW’s first version was “released only a few weeks after the Ethereum network was launched, and it has since grown to become the go-to interface for easily transacting in ETH and gaining access to decentralized finance (DeFi).”
As noted in the update, MEW claims it is “a nexus point for transacting in the Ethereum ecosystem, providing unprecedented access, a secure wallet, multi-faceted integration possibilities, and comprehensive education that allows anyone to quickly take advantage of all the benefits crypto finance has to offer.”
MEW makes interacting “with the Ethereum ecosystem simple – it is free, open-source, and secure.”
Founded in 2015, it is the original interface “empowering users to maintain full control of their keys and funds at every point of interaction and does not hold, save or store any personal information.”
