Global securities crowdfunding platform OurCrowd has distributed an email reporting $62 million in investment in a single week. The reference is to portfolio companies that individual investors have access to by investing online.
OurCrowd is based in Israel and thus has access to the hot innovation market. Simultaneously, OurCrowd provides access to capital to early-stage ventures around the world so operations are not just limited to a single region. OurCrowd caters to individual (accredited) investors, as well as some institutional money. The platform aims to provide access to VC deals that have been challenging to access in the past.
Some examples of portfolio companies raising capital include:
- Liquid Instruments raising $28.5 million
- Shyft raising $16 million in Series B funding
- InsideTracker raising $15 million
While the venture market may be struggling in a difficult economic environment it appears that OurCrowd continues to power forward matching investors with private firms in need of growth capital.
OurCrowd reports a network of 192,000 registered investors in 195 countries, having funded 322 companies as well as a number of funds, thus providing immediate diversification.
