Aegis Trust, which claims to be one of the select few digital asset qualified custodians in the U.S. offering client-centric technology infrastructure and regulatory-compliant solutions, announced that Anthony Botticella has been “appointed as the new President of the company, as well as its global custodian entities, effective immediately.”
With over two decades of experience in trust and financial management, Mr. Botticella reportedly “brings a wealth of expertise and knowledge to his new role.”
Previously, Mr. Botticella had “served as the CEO of BitGo Trust.”
He also was “the Chief Trust Officer of Prime Trust.” In addition, Mr. Botticella claims he “has a strong legal background, having earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Tulsa College of Law.”
As President of Aegis Trust Company (United States), Aegis Custody Company Limited (Hong Kong), and Aegis Custody Pte Ltd (Singapore), Mr. Botticella will “oversee all three entities’ custody, infrastructure, compliance and day-to-day operations.”
To ensure continuity in providing global coverage, he will also “develop and implement operational policies as well as a growth plan for Aegis’ digital asset custodians among the United States, Hong Kong and Singapore that will drive the company’s continued success.”
Mr. Botticella said:

The company also is “a qualified custodian under the SEC’s ruling proposed in February 2023.”
Mr. Botticella’s expertise “in these areas, as well as his experience with anti-money laundering and know-your-customer processes, will be instrumental in helping the company continue to provide superior service to its clients.”
