Do Kwon, the creator of TerraUSD – LUNA, has been sentenced to four months in the slammer in Montenegro, according to multiple reports.
Kwon’s attempt to create an algorithmic stablecoin TerraUSD has been cited as a huge catalyst in the crypto collapse of 2022. The aftershocks are still being felt.
Following the collapse of his company TerraForm Labs, Kwon skipped town and ended up in Montenegro where he was arrested and released on bond. Today, a court has sentenced Kwon to a brief stay in prison – but not for anything to do with TerraUSD = but for carrying bogus passports.
Other countries are lining up to have Kwon extradited so after his release he may be shipped off to the US or South Korea where authorities are interested in the mayhem he allegedly caused.
