Netwealth, one of Australia’s specialist investment platforms, and iCapital, the global fintech platform driving access to alternative investments for the wealth management industry, announced a partnership “to distribute global private market and hedge fund investments to financial advice firms and their wholesale clients across Australia.”
Headquartered in NYC and servicing over USD $164 billion in client assets globally, iCapital claims it “has transformed access to private markets investments via investing opportunities in direct investments and feeder funds.”
iCapital offers a menu of private investments, “including equity, credit, real estate, infrastructure and hedge funds.” It automates the subscription, administration, operational and reporting processes “for the life of the investment and also provides a full suite of research, due diligence and educational materials to advisors and investors.”
Matt Heine, Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director at Netwealth, said:
“We are pleased to partner with iCapital to provide a unique private market offering to Australian investors. It highlights our commitment to expanding access to a wide range of diverse investment opportunities for advisers and their clients. In launching our partnership with iCapital, we are helping to meet growing appetite from high-net-worth investors for private market and hedge fund strategies, and further helping them achieve desired portfolio outcomes.”
Netwealth sees continued demand “for private market and hedge fund investments in Australia alongside a desire for comprehensive educational support.”
As part of the strategic partnership, Netwealth will “serve initially as iCapital’s exclusive Australian distribution partner for iCapital sponsored funds relying on Netwealth’s strong network of product specialists who will work closely with financial advisers.”
iCapital will also provide Netwealth “with product support through its in-house research and diligence team, and a bespoke suite of educational tools.”
Netwealth will be able to “provide access to wholesale managed funds through Netwealth’s Wealth Accelerator Multi Asset Portfolio service, and advisers will also be able to access private market investments that include limited partnerships and non-Australian domiciled funds from some of the most sought after managers from the iCapital menu.”
