Elizabeth Gorz, a former Legislative Aide in the Michigan State Senate, Senior Policy Advisor to former Michigan Governor Rick Snyder (from 2011 to 2019), has been selected as the American Fintech Council as Head of Legislative Affairs and Chief Strategy Officer. Gorz was most recently as Head of Public Policy and Government Affairs at Pathward (formerly MetaBank).
Phil Goldfeder, CEO of the American Fintech Council, said the with both state and federal experience, Gorz is the perfect candidate to lead AFC legislative strategy and engagement.
“At a time when responsible fintech companies and innovative BaaS banks are driving transformative and positive change for consumers, it’s important that we embrace regulatory standards and work in collaboration with policymakers to support the future of finance, creating critical access to financial services.”
Gorz holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the James Madison College at Michigan State University and a Juris Doctorate from Michigan State College of Law. She said it is a privilege to joined the team at AFC:
