European investment crowdfunding platform Seedrs is reporting that it raised £ 12.7 million from more than 6,000 investors via public campaigns during the month of March.
Including all avenues of investment; primary offerings, secondary offerings, funds, and private deals, the number moves higher to £21.4 million in March 2024.
The largest funding round during the month was vegan food brand THIS, which closed a £1.4 million securities offering, and LaundryHeap, an on-demand wash and dry clean firm, closed a £1.3M funding round.
As for secondary trading, Seedrs said that March delivered the highest amount of share lots traded on their marketplace.
Equity in over 300 businesses were submitted for sale, with £540,000 worth of shares transacted.
The top five selling secondary shares were:
- Revolut – a digital bank
- Rheal0 – a food company
- Wrisk – an Insurtech firm
- CheekyPanda – a bamboo toilet paper company
- Solivus- a thin-film solar panel company
The Secondary Marketplace provides estimated valuations for companies based on prior funding rounds. Revolut remains the top-valued firm at an indicative valuation of over £27 billion.
Since its launch, Seedrs has funded over £2.8 billion. Seedrs is owned by Republic.
