Fireblocks claims that it has consistently led the way in providing the fastest and most diverse range of blockchain support.
With a growing list of over 60 supported blockchains, Fireblocks enables customers to securely custody tokens “on the latest chains and quickly build innovative services for their customers.”
They are now announcing that Fireblocks has expanded “support for the Cosmos ecosystem – delivering custody, DeFi, and staking support across several leading appchains.”
Cosmos is described as “a decentralized network composed of hundreds of interlinked blockchains, all built on open-source Cosmos technology.”
Referred to as the “Internet of Blockchains,” Cosmos is currently the second-largest blockchain ecosystem, after Ethereum.
Cosmos is a growing ecosystem “designed to solve some of the toughest problems in the blockchain space, including scalability, usability, and interoperability.”
Interoperability is enabled “through the IBC Protocol (Inter-Blockchain Communication Protocol), which allows different blockchains in the Cosmos ecosystem to communicate directly with one another.”
As they offer institutional access to Cosmos, they provide “support for many of the top appchains within the Cosmos ecosystem, with more to come shortly.”
The appchains we currently support include:
- Cosmos Hub (ATOM) – The ATOM token plays a crucial role within the Cosmos network, functioning as the native utility and governance token of the Cosmos Hub, which is the network’s backbone.
- Osmosis (OSMO) – The leading Cosmos chain and largest DEX.
- Celestia (TIA) – A modular blockchain network that is highly regarded for its staking capabilities.
- dYdX (DYDX) – A leading DeFi protocol for advanced trading.
- Axelar (AXL) – A PoS cross-chain connector enabling seamless asset transfers and communication between different blockchain networks, enhancing interoperability, and expanding dApp functionality.
- Kava (KAVA) – A decentralized blockchain that combines the speed and interoperability of Cosmos with the development power of Ethereum.
- Injective (INJ) – One of the most significant and highly-requested Cosmos chains by many Fireblocks customers.
- Thorchain (RUNE) – A network that facilitates native asset settlement between various blockchains including Bitcoin, Ethereum, BNB Chain, Cosmos, and more.
Fireblocks users can custody, and access DeFi and staking for the following:
- Custody ATOM, OSMO, TIA, DYDX, AXL, KAVA, INJ, and RUNE in their Fireblocks Vault.
- Securely transfer ATOM, OSMO, TIA, DYDX, AXL, KAVA, INJ, and RUNE on the Fireblocks Network.
- Connect to dApps on Osmosis, Injective, Celestia, and Kava via WalletConnect
- Stake ATOM, OSMO, TIA, DYDX, AXL, KAVA, and INJ through our staking partners Figment and Kiln.
In addition to the blockchains they’re launching support for, Fireblocks is also committed to adding more support for Cosmos.
This year, they aim to add:
- Sei (SEI) – One of the fastest blockchains, processing multiple transactions simultaneously to enhance scalability, reduce latency, and improve user experience.
- Noble (USDC) – Asset issuance chain purpose-built for the Inter-Blockchain Communication (IBC) ecosystem.
- Berachain (BERA) – Highly anticipated blockchain which recently secured $100M in funding from Framework Ventures; it hasn’t launched yet, but Fireblocks is committed to supporting it at launch.
