DNA Payments Supports Open Banking for PoS Payment Terminals

DNA Payments is bringing more flexible payment options to the payments space, being one of the first to market in the UK by launching Open Banking for its axept PRO payment terminals, offering merchants even more ways for their customers to pay.

The introduction of POS Open Banking transactions “within DNA Payments’ range of mobile payment methods builds on its launch of Open Banking for Ecommerce in April 2021, cementing the company as a modern Fintech for businesses within the digital economy.”

With just a few simple steps, customers can “pay via their mobile device and banking app quickly and conveniently.”

Arif Babayev and Nurlan Zhagiparov, Co-Founders of DNA Payments, said:

“Our commitment to offering merchants flexible, alternative payment options and being at the forefront of the digital economy is strengthened by our launch of Open Banking to our POS terminal estate. With Open Banking, anyone with a banking app can make quick mobile payments effortlessly via a QR code on the terminal. It also provides benefits such as less charge-backs for our merchants, all within a highly secure transactional environment.”

JP Lips, CEO at DNA Payments, added:

“Launching Open Banking for our POS terminal estate underscores the impact we can make as a technology-first payments company. Especially for large amounts, Open Banking payments are very cost-efficient, for example, for wholesalers and automotive dealers. They don’t attract chargebacks, and because consumers validate their payment in their bank app, they are very secure. Our role as DNA Payments is to make this as easy as possible. We enable Open Banking payments by showing a QR code on the payment terminal so the consumer can scan and pay quickly and securely, with settlement and reconciliation easily tracked in our Merchant Portal. Simple Unified Payments.”

The rollout of POS Open Banking as a fully enabled payment option “increases DNA Payments’ full suite of alternative payment methods for payment terminals, which includes Contactless, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Alipay+.”
