Switzerland: Taurus Adds Stellar Network to Custody Offerings

Tauras, a digital asset firm currently serving big names like Santander, Credit Suisse, and Deutsche Bank, says it has added the Stellar Network to its custody offerings.

Taurus custody service is named Taurus Protect. The company also provides tokenization services.

Stellar is a popular public blockchain used by multiple financial services firms. It prides itself on being fast and affordable, enabling firms to transfer value everywhere. Stellar reports an all-time average ledger transfer of 5.19 seconds. Transactions cost a small fraction of a penny. Firms like Franklin Templeton, WisdomTree, and Circle use Stellar for real-world asset tokenization.

Jürgen Hofbauer, Head of Global Strategic Partnerships at Taurus, said their platform can now provide the Stellar Network, adding value for both banking and non-banking firms with reduced fees and fast transactions, including securities, tokenized deposits, and CBDCs.

Stellar Development Foundation Senior Director Roberto Dursck highlighted usage by regulated financial services firms aiming to benefit from tokenization.

“We’re excited Taurus is joining the global Stellar ecosystem.”
