Handelsbanken Norway Enters Agreement with Tietoevry Banking, Focused on Payment Services, Wealth Management

Handelsbanken Norway has entered into a new agreement with Tietoevry Banking for the delivery of a complete solution portfolio, including core banking, card and payment solutions, wealth management, as well as solutions for combating financial crime.

The agreement has a duration of five years, and is “a renewal of a previous agreement.”

Central to the new agreement is the migration to “a new and modern core banking solution that is modular and based on high-level APIs that make it easy and efficient for Handelsbanken to integrate with new solutions that support its channel strategy.”

With 38 branches across Norway, Handelsbanken stands “as one of the largest banks in the country.”

Handelsbanken has more satisfied customers than “comparable banks and is one of the most cost-effective listed banks in Europe.”

Øystein Aulin, Director of Technology and Development at Handelsbanken said:

“This is a large and important agreement that gives us predictability in both solutions and systems for the future, and we are very pleased that we now have a new agreement in place.”

Klaus Andersen, CEO of Tietoevry Banking said:

“We are very proud to extend and renew our long-standing collaboration with Handelsbanken Norway. The agreement involves the use of digital solutions and modern technology that will support Handelsbanken’s strategy of providing safe, reliable, and user-friendly banking services to its customers. We will be migrating Handelsbanken Norway to our modernized technology platform, which will enable faster time-to-market for new services and provide greater efficiency and scalability. At the same time, we have high demands for safe and stable operation of the solutions.”

At Tietoevry, they believe it’s time to shift perspective. It’s not about “what technology can do anymore — but what it should.”

So that the futures of businesses, societies, and humanity “can live and thrive. Side by side.”

This is why they’re making it their business “to create purposeful technology that reinvents the world for good.”
