Cash App Pay Integrates with Google Play

Cash App announces its integration with Google Play, giving consumers an alternative payment option when checking out on their Android smartphones or tablets. This partnership represents an opportunity to engage with a broad range of consumers, particularly in the gaming space.

Pete Albers, Director of Google Play Retail & Payments Activation, said:

“We’re continuously expanding payment options on Google Play, and adding Cash App Pay is a significant step in giving users more choice and convenience while meeting their evolving payment preferences.”

With approximately $3 trillion in annual consumer spending being “funneled outside of the traditional financial system, younger shoppers are looking to alternative payment solutions like Cash App Pay when shopping.”

Cash App Pay provides customers “with a convenient and simple way to pay by using their Cash App balance or linked debit card.”

Tanuj Parikh, Head of Partnerships, Cash App, and Afterpay at Block, said:

“Next gen shoppers are demanding more choices at checkout, and we know they’re also looking for more ways to pay with their own money. This partnership not only empowers them to pay flexibly for the things they want, but it also marries two strong customer sets and maximizes their mobile utility.”

Cash App Pay currently has 4 million monthly actives, “adding 1 million monthly actives each of the last four quarters.”

When checking out on Google Play, Android users can “select Cash App Pay as their preferred payment method. Download Cash App to get access to all available merchants.”

As noted in the update, Google Play is an online store on Android “that makes it easy for more than 2.5 billion monthly users across 190+ countries worldwide to discover millions of high-quality apps and delightful content.”

They help keep consumers safe by “building rigorous protections into Google Play and requiring developers to follow high safety standards, while investing heavily in enabling developers to thrive.”

As mentioned in the announcement, Cash App is the money app.

Sending and receiving money “is free and fast, and most payments can be deposited directly to an external bank account in just a few seconds.”

With Cash App, customers can also “buy and sell Bitcoin instantly, get a paycheck deposited right to the app, create a unique $cashtag to share with anyone to get paid fast, and use the Cash App Card to spend the money everywhere Visa Debit is accepted.
