Nordic Challenger Bank Lunar Launches Update to Hyper-Personalize Banking

Lunar has recently rolled out a major app update, which is described as a game-changer in hyper-personalized banking.

Lunar claims that it takes digital banking to the next level with the launch of the app update, 5.0, marking a key moment in the platform’s evolution.

The app reportedly brings a new focus on customization, functionality, as well as a more “visually refreshed design.”

Lunar empowers users to create a banking experience tailored to their unique financial goals and preferences, “reinforcing the position as a Nordic leader in user-centric banking innovation.”

Lunar’s app is built to adapt to individual needs, offering modular “widgets and tools, like the Lunar AI Assistant, that make banking smarter and more personal.”

These innovations ensure that Lunar continues to set the “standard for intuitive, hyper-personalized” digital banking.

Christina Vestergaard, CPO at Lunar said:

“With this update, we’re not only enhancing functionality – we’re redefining how people connect with their finances, offering unparalleled control, flexibility, and creativity.”

Key features:

  • Customizable Home screen: Users can now tailor their interface by pinning accounts and adding data-rich widgets. These tools provide instant access to the financial information most relevant to each user, from monitoring savings to tracking investments.
  • Streamlined Wallet section: A new Wallet that unifies accounts, cards, goals, and SAS EuroBonus points into one intuitive view, featuring drag-and-drop transfer functionality for seamless money management.
  • Personalized Account design: Users can customise account appearances with wallpapers and soon prompt Lunar AI Assistant for unique designs or upload their own images.
  • Insights for businesses: The new design of the insight area aligns the experience between consumer and business, giving business users rich spending, incoming, and cashflow insights for the first time.
  • New Design: Lunar’s updated aesthetic features a refined color palette, dynamic 3D assets, and enhanced typography and iconography.

The update brings customization tools and a redesigned interface, making it easier for users to “personalize their financial experience.”

The simplified layout ensures that key features are easy to find and use, making it more efficient for users to “interact with their finances.”

Currently, the Lunar AI Assistant provides financial insights to help users make “smarter financial decisions.”

Soon, users will also be able to collaborate with the AI Assistant to prompt their own unique designs for accounts, “adding more hyper-personalization options.”

Christina Vestergaard added:

“Early usage trends are already showing positive signs. We’ve seen a 12% uplift in the average revenue per user (ARPU) for new users within their first 30 days. Additionally, connected accounts from other banks have risen by 26%, and adoption of SAS EuroBonus has grown by 18%.”
