Max Rabinovitch, Chief Strategy Officer at Chiliz & Socios.com, has shared key insights with CI, reflecting on the most impactful developments of 2024 and predictions for the year ahead.
As noted in the update, the Chiliz Chain is the Layer-1 blockchain for sporting brands to build and integrate Web3 solutions; its ecosystem — fueled by $CHZ, the Chiliz native token — already “supports more than 70 global organizations building blockchain solutions.”
However, it is not yet clear what impact these solutions and innovations will have on the broader digital economy. Although Bitcoin has surged past the $100K mark and the crypto market is valued at over $3 trillion, many people are still skeptical of the digital assets and web3 industry’s long-term potential. It can still be argued that we might be at the tip of the iceberg, considering that many individuals and organizations are hesitant to enter the volatile crypto space.
Despite this, 2024 was still a remarkable year for crypto and blockchain, given that the industry came even closer to going mainstream.
Rabinovitch said:
“Last year saw a monumentally positive shift toward digital assets, with the US election becoming a catalyst for significant gains for many players in the sector. The most immediate impact of the incoming administration has been the expectation of the opening of the US market to crypto assets providers, a reversal of more than a decade of strong regulatory scrutiny.”
They added:
“While sentiment is at an all-time high, consumer, media, and investor attention has not guaranteed success across the sector. The long-term sustainability of these gains will become apparent in the coming months.”
It’s worth noting that Chiliz (CHZ) is a digital currency and Ethereum token that’s used in sports and entertainment:
Chiliz powers the Socios platform, which allows users “to buy fan tokens to show their support for sports teams.”
Fans can use these tokens in order to “participate in decision-making processes for their favorite clubs, such as through polls and surveys.”
