Qi Card has recently introduced its third-generation app, SuperQi, in collaboration with Ant International.
Powered by Alipay+ Wallet Tech solutions, SuperQi reportedly integrates a digital lifestyle super app with a “fully functional” digital banking platform, bringing a new era of financial inclusion and digital services to consumers residing in Iraq.
After its official launch in July of last year, SuperQi has reportedly combined Western digital banking models with the best practices from Asia’s widely-used super apps.
Bahaa Abdulhussein, chairman of Qi, remarked:
“At Qi, our vision is to build a cashless Iraq by bringing financial services to every corner of our society. SuperQi is a testament to this commitment, simplifying financial transactions and fostering greater inclusivity for all Iraqis. Our collaboration with Ant International is not just about advancing digital finance; it represents a transformative leap towards creating a broader digital ecosystem that addresses the needs of the unbanked population.”
Currently available in several different languages including Arabic, English and Kurdish, SuperQi aims to serve millions of residents of Iraq, providing a comprehensive or all-in-one suite of services which include scan-to-pay, money transfers, bill payments, loans, instalments, mobile recharge, shopping, travel and other payment solutions.
SuperQi reportedly supports Iraq’s financial infrastructure, with more than 20,000 point-of-sale merchants as well as around 10,000 cash-out agents
The app’s accessibility is intended to address the fast-evolving financial and lifestyle requirements of users, targeting more than 30% of Iraq’s population by the year 2026.
Qi has reportedly made considerable progress in enabling greater financial inclusion in Iraq.
The rate of banked consumers in the nation has reportedly increased from a around 5 per cent to almost 50 per cent in the past few years, according to media reports.
By supporting access to banking services via SuperQi, the fintech firm intends to to accelerate this shift towards a more cashless economy.
With more than 11 million cardholders as well as 5 million mobile app users, Qi now intends s to reach more than 15 million app users within the coming years.
Abdulhussein also noted:
“With SuperQi, we empower millions of Iraqis with accessible, efficient, and secure solutions, paving the way for a more interconnected, inclusive, and technologically advanced nation.”
