AMP Teams Up with Engine by Starling to Launch New Digital Bank

Australian financial services firm AMP has collaborated with Engine by Starling to develop a new digital bank designed specifically for small business owners and everyday customers. The mobile-first bank aims to cater to Australia‘s millions of small business owners, including micro businesses, solopreneurs, and side hustlers. The new digital bank has been built on Engine, an API-based, cloud-native platform from UK digital bank Starling.

This platform seeks to enable AMP users with various features and services. One of the highlighted features of the digital banking platform is its focus on security and protection. According to the company, users will have access to fraud and identity theft protection, including Australia’s first numberless debit cards for small businesses. These cards are designed to provide an additional layer of security for business owners.

In addition to the numberless debit cards, the digital bank also offers selfie-style video identity verification. This feature enables users to verify their identity quickly and securely, using a selfie-style video.

The digital bank also says it provides users with 24/7 human contact center support via phone and live chat.

According to Sean O’Malley, Group Executive, AMP Bank Group, the new digital bank is designed to transform the banking experience for Australia’s small business owners and everyday customers.

O’Malley said:

“We searched the world to source the very best in banking technology to create what we’re confident will be Australia’s premier mobile digital banking experience. We’ve loaded the new app with the very latest tech and innovations to provide business owners with the latest in cyber, fraud and scam protection, and the capability to integrate leading small business software solutions.”
