White House Asks for Feedback on AI Policy

As the Trump Administration seeks to pursue policy that enhances artificial intelligence (AI) development as the world competes to dominate the emerging tech, the executive branch has asked for feedback on AI innovation as part of an executive order by the White House that is crafting an AI Action Plan.

Last week, Lynne Parker, Principal Deputy Director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) said the Trump Administration is committed to making the US the “undeniable leader” in AI innovation.

“This AI Action Plan is the first step in securing and advancing American AI dominance, and we look forward to incorporating the public’s comments and innovative ideas.”

A Request for Information (RFI) is available on the Federal Register’s website through March 15, 2025.  The OSTP aims to gather commentary from interested parties from both private and public sectors including industry participants, academia and others.

On the other side of the equation, it was recently reported that AI regulation is “out of control” as both state and federal policymakers have rushed to create rules that may impact AI development.

Comments can be submitted online and will be accepted until 11:59 PM on March 15, 2025.
