Michelle “Miki” Bowman has been selected to become the Vice Chair for Supervision of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System.
Posting on Truth Social, President Trump issued the following statement:
“I am pleased to announce that Michelle “Miki” Bowman will be the Federal Reserve’s new Vice Chair of Supervision. Miki has been serving honorably on the Fed’s Board of Governors since 2018, and has great expertise dealing with Inflation, Regulation, and Banking. Our Economy has been mismanaged for the past four years, and it is time for a change. Miki has the “know-how” to get it done. I am confident we will achieve Economic heights never before seen in our Nation’s History. Congratulations Miki!”
The Vice Chair for Supervision has been vacant since the beginning of the year.
Bowman has been serving as a member of the Fed Board of Governors since 2018. Prior to joining the Fed, Bowman was the Kansas state bank commissioner. At one point, Bowman worked as a staffer for the former Senator Bob Dole.
Chair of the House Financial Services Committee French Hill issued the following statement on the selection:
“I applaud the nomination of Miki Bowman to serve as Vice Chair for Supervision. Miki has done an outstanding job as the community banking designated governor on the Federal Reserve’s board. I am confident she will bring strong leadership in her new role as Vice Chair for Supervision. I look forward to working with Miki on policies that support everyday Americans and businesses like reevaluating Basel III Endgame and reexamining the supervision and examination policies of the Board.”
