The Securities and Exchange Commission’s Crypto Task Force, created by interim SEC Chairman Mark Uyeda, has revealed its agenda for its next Crypto Roundtable.
Led by SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce, the Task Force aims to work with industry participants and other insiders to chart a path of improved regulatory oversight of the digital asset sector. During the tenure of former Chairman Gary Gensler, the Commission effectively viewed everything as a security, refusing to acknowledge the nuances and unique characteristics of the crypto industry. The Roundtables aim to help craft an approach to ensure investor protection while enabling innovation to continue.
Commissioner Peirce stated:
“Hearing the public’s concerns and suggestions helps the SEC create a clear, sensible, and fair path forward for the crypto industry. I look forward to this roundtable and the rest of the series as we move toward crypto clarity for the benefit of the American public.”
The Roundtable will be live-streamed on the SEC website on April 11th, commencing at 1 PM ET.
