Naoris Protocol, a quantum-resistant blockchain and cybersecurity mesh architecture, has announced an MOU with MiCA-compliant digital asset exchange ZBX. Together, they will create what they said is the world’s first crypto exchange fortified against quantum computing threats.
Through this partnership, ZBX will integrate Naoris Protocol’s decentralized, post-quantum infrastructure. The integration eliminates traditional single points of failure by implementing a self-healing cybersecurity mesh that detects and neutralizes threats within milliseconds – a stark contrast to current industry standards, where breaches go undetected for an average of 272 days, according to IBM research.
ZBX said it will become the first exchange fully prepared for “Q-Day” – the moment quantum computers become powerful enough to break current encryption. All assets stored on the platform will be secured with post-quantum algorithms, while every transaction will be validated using quantum-resistant signatures, ensuring complete protection in both the present and quantum future.
David Carvalho, founder of Naoris Protocol, said, “The current crypto security paradigm is no longer sufficient. Web3 projects still rely heavily on Web2 infrastructure, which creates single points of failure and makes them vulnerable to existing attack vectors and future quantum threats.”
“To confront both today’s threats and those on the horizon, a fundamentally new approach is urgently needed. We’re excited to work closely with ZBX to prepare for future cyber threats, embedding real-time trust and post-quantum resilience into digital finance.”
In 2024, cryptocurrency exchanges experienced a surge in security breaches, with hackers stealing more than $2.2 billion, marking a 21% increase from the previous year. The trend has continued into 2025, highlighted by the $1.5 billion theft from Bybit – the largest crypto heist to date.
By integrating with Naoris, ZBX said it becomes the first exchange to align with the EU’s growing focus on quantum-resistant infrastructure, sovereignty, and real-time attestation.
Jimmy Zhao, founder of ZBX, said, “Security isn’t a feature – it’s the foundation. With Naoris, we’re going beyond the industry standard. We’re making ZBX the safest, most resilient exchange architecture in the world. We are creating a new global standard.”
