Episode Six, a global technology provider of enterprise-grade card issuing and ledger infrastructure, has recently announced its new partnership with Fintech wealth app Sharesies, in order to support its newly launched debit card. The payment card is said to be the first in New Zealand to enable customers to “earn” investments on their spending.
Episode Six’s card issuing and ledger technology will power Sharesies’ new debit card offering, enabling “multi-currency support, virtual account provisioning, and integrated foreign exchange capabilities.”
This infrastructure reportedly enables Sharesies’ customers to move “between spending and investing within a single platform”
General Manager of Sharesies Personal, Scott Nixon has said that customer experience is at the core of everything that they aim to do.
They added that they are pleased “to partner with a company that truly understands this and offers a solution that supports their goal.”
Nixon added that with their debit card, they want their customers to feel more confident and in control of their spending while also “actively supporting their financial future.”
Daryn Griggs, Managing Director, Asia Pacific at Episode Six said that Sharesies is at the forefront of making investing accessible “to all, and this partnership takes that vision further by embedding payments directly into wealth management”
Griggs also mentioned that together, they’re enabling customers to access more flexible, modern financial products that are “built for the way people live and invest today.”
The latest partnership reinforces both firms’ so-called shared vision “for making finance more inclusive and adaptive to customers’ needs.”
By connecting investing and payments via technology, Sharesies and Episode Six are said to be redefining “how financial ecosystems can empower everyday investors.”
As covered recently, Episode Six and Fireblocks announced the co-development of a unified payments solution. The payments solution integrates traditional and digital finance, bringing together fiat, stablecoins, loyalty points, and other digital assets onto a single, programmable platform—allowing FIs to effectively operate across asset classes.
The collab combines Episode Six’s card issuing and ledger infrastructure and Fireblocks’ enterprise platform for digital asset custody, settlement, trading operations, and stablecoin payments.
Together, the firms will deliver a solution that “enables banks, fintechs, and corporations to issue, fund, and process traditional and digital assets from one system.”
