BLF launched in March of this year, backed by Anchorage Digital and Chainlink Labs. Anchorage is a federally chartered digital bank. The PAC’s mission is for a “commitment to establishing thoughtful regulation that protects consumers while bolstering U.S. leadership in financial innovation.”
While digital asset innovation is broadly supported by Congressional Republicans, some Democrats have embraced the advent of digital assets, gaining bipartisan advocacy, and BLF will support policymakers from either party.
The prior Biden Administration was decisively anti-innovation and anti-digital assets. The administration actively sought to undermine crypto, exemplified by the Securities and Exchange Commission’s decision to avoid desired bright-line rules, choosing to regulate by enforcement. Under the Trump Administration, support for digital assets has become a prominent policy goal, championing the ambition to make the US the world’s leading crypto hub.
