Netcapital will explain its new strategy, moving away from securities crowdfunding to providing infrastructure.
According to a release, on May 28, 2026, new CEO Todd Violette will address his decision to migrate from listing online securities offerings, his near-term priorities, and his plans to leverage existing infrastructure, including market data as well as artificial intelligence, to support growth-stage firms. He decided to pivot as Netcapital struggles to grow, having lost over $28 million in 2025.
Violette became CEO on April 13th, replacing Rich Wheeless as the firm’s leader. Wheeless became CEO in December of 2025 and thus led the firm for only a few short months.
Netcapital has recently traded well below its 52-week high of $8.75. The shares closed at around $0.82 on Friday, which gave the firm a market cap of $6.42 million.
