Mambu Teams Up With Google Cloud to Enable Launch of New Indonesia-Based Digital Bank “Bank Jago”

Mambu, a Germany-based SaaS banking platform provider, announced earlier this week it has teamed up with Google Cloud to power Bank Jago, a Indonesia-based digital bank. Mambu reported that Bank Jago is considered the first organization to benefit from the Bambu-Google Cloud collaboration.

Jago describes itself as a life-centric finance app that makes money management simple, collaborative and innovative, allowing customers to focus on life, with their family and friends.

“Founded by serial innovators with proven track records in micro lending and digital banking, Jago is positioned to become Indonesia’s pioneering and leading life-centric finance solution. We aspire to be a strong tech-based bank embedded in Indonesia’s digital ecosystem, to fulfill the needs of the middle and mass market segment, including the small and medium enterprises.”

Speaking about collaborating with Mambu and Google Cloud, Bank Jago President Director, Kharim Siregar, stated:

“Mambu’s cloud banking platform and its partnership with Google Cloud offer the core banking solution that we are looking for and will allow us to focus on offering flexible cloud-based banking services to our customers.”

Myles Bertrand, Managing Director of APAC at Mambu, then added:

“We’re excited to bring our composable banking approach to Indonesia and to work with Bank Jago. Now that our strategic partner Google Cloud has made cloud banking a reality in Indonesia, we expect to see great progress made in the region in a very short space of time. According to the World Bank, less than half of all Indonesian adults currently have a bank account, so we expect that Bank Jago’s digital offerings will help to enhance financial inclusion within the region.”
