They believe that by offering customers the ability to “Grow An Amazon Birthday Gift with the help of your friends“, customers can turn a small gift into a big gift and Amazon captures more users.
The process requires use their Facebook account because it based on the Facebook connect feature. This will also allow users to post birthday messages to their walls.
Recipients must have an Amazon account (of course). Presently they are offering a $3 promotion to help build usage.
