Airtame wireless HDMI has gone from obscure startup to Danish tech superstar in a matter of weeks. Their crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo was looking to raise $160,000 to fund their dream. It closed yesterday at $1,268,148 becoming the 5th most funded, successful campaign on Indiegogo ever. Airtame slipped ahead of another crowdfunding hit, German based Panono which just closed their crowdfunding round as well. Backers numbered 12,369 with the majority signing up to receive an Airtame with early bird shipments scheduled for May 2014. 17 “Distributor Packages” were reserved via Indiegogo as well. Distributors will receive 100 Airtames for $6,900.

Airtame was recognized as the Best Startup at CES this year which is a significant achievement. Airtame has now shifted pre-order purchases to their own web site.
