Indiegogo’s Rubin: “If you want humans to decide, go to a bank” (Video)

slava rubinThe rewards-based crowdfunding arms race is alive and well. In a recent interview with Bloomberg West, Bloomberg’s Emily Chang leads by pointing out that Indiegogo is the smaller of two websites currently participating in a “two-horse race,” singling out Indiegogo as the “little guy.”

In response, Indiegogo CEO and co-founder Slava Rubin took a not-too-subtle jab at Kickstarter in pointing out that Indiegogo is “bringing the crowd into crowdfunding.” Indiegogo applies a light curational touch on their platform, only disallowing projects in certain verticals. Kickstarter curates campaigns to align with their goals of being a “funding platform for creative projects.”

If you want humans to decide, go to a bank. If you want the crowd to decide, come to Indiegogo.Slava Rubin
