UK based rewards crowdfunding platform, Crowdfunder has confirmed that it has raised over £1.5m for UK projects – and grown by a factor of 15 in the last 12 months. Accompanied by a report from The Crowdfunding Centre stating that Crowdfunder.co.uk has more projects than all other UK platforms, Crowdfunder was pleased to claim the number one position – challenging global giants Kickstarter and Indiegogo.
NESTA, the UK’s leading enterprise charity, reported that the UK rewards based crowdfunding market grew by 388% in 2013. And the new research from The Crowdfunding Centre research says that the UK market grew more than 160% in funds raised between February and March, and 90% in January.
“These new stats support the huge surge in growth crowdfunder.co.uk is experiencing. Our unique approach to crowdfunding is delivering huge results and having a massive impact on businesses, communities, charities and social entrepreneurs across the UK.”
Founder of The Crowdfunding Centre, Barry James, said:
“The data shows that Crowdfunder is now the dominant UK-based Reward Crowdfunding platform with more projects than the all other UK based rewards platforms combined – so giving the American behemoths Kickstarter and Indiegogo a run for their money on UK soil.”
