Crowdcube Spain Breaks National Crowdfunding Record with HEMAV

Crowdcube Spain EspanaCrowdcube  Spain shares they have broken the Spanish equity crowdfunding record in raising €450,000 for Barcelona drop company HEMAV.  The funding round closed in 6 days with the backing of 73 investors.  HEMAV added four new board members including Lluis Font the co-founder of Zyncro and a well known angel investor in Spain.

Launched in June of 2014, Crowdcube Spain’s first campaign was Iberic Box – a company that sells jamón ibérico, olive oil and other traditional Spanish food.  The company is said to have created an innovative packaging system for food.  The company raised HEMAV€92,000 from 42 investors. Founder Eva Gonzalez is apparently working with her investors to secure international patents and to expand their platforms reach to other countries.

According to Pepe Borrell from Crowdcube Spain, the country has seen over €70 million in both lending and equity in 2014 versus a total of €30 million for all of 2013.

Pepe BorrellCrowdcube Spain is currently preparing for its very first cross-border offering something they will be partnering with all of the other Crowdcube affiliated platforms.

The regulatory environment for investment crowdfunding has been in flux a bit and will be changing once again.
