On Tuesday, Indiegogo announced it has joined forces with Dutch brewing company, Heineken, for a new project known as The Cities Project.
The global crowdfunding platform stated residents in New York, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles and Honolulu are invited to submit projects they care about through Heineken’s Facebook page. These projects can involve anything that may create a strong impact on the cities.
“Entrants will submit a 30-second pitch video to the Heineken Facebook page, where the public can vote for their favorite ideas. A panel of experts from a variety of cities and backgrounds will help Heineken select the winning projects in each market.”
Ten finalists will be selected and interviewed by Heineken’s team of experts and then five projects will be selected to run a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo, with $20,000 matched and marketing support from both companies. Other prizes will include:
Creative assets for the Indiegogo campaigns including a crowdfunding pitch video- Digital promotions of Indiegogo campaigns across Heineken channels
- Hands-on guidance and support from crowdfunding experts to help build and run Indiegogo campaigns
Meanwhile, Heinkein is set to partner with Miami and the National Trust to help restore the Miami Marine Stadium.
“Once serving as an iconic hub for major concerts and other prominent arts and cultural events, the Miami Marine Stadium has gone dormant for years. Heineken, the National Trust and other partners will run a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo to generate support for this important project.”
Heineken also noted:

The Cities Project will run between May 23rd and June 30th.
