SEC Schedules Next Advisory Committee on Small & Emerging Companies Meeting

SEC Advisory Committee On Small And Emerging Companies (ACSEC) has scheduled a meeting for May 10, 2017. The ACSEC meeting will commence at 9:30AM and will take place at the SEC Headquarters. The public is invited to these meetings but the SEC typically live-streams the events on their website.

The agenda for the meeting does not include and specifics but the topics of discussion are expected to incorporate matters relating to rules and regulations affecting small and emerging companies under the federal securities laws. The notice of the meeting is less than fifteen days prior to the meeting due to an administrative delay.

With the change in Administration, one may expect the SEC to take a more business / investor friendly posture.  President Trump has selected Jay Clayton, a corporate attorney, as Chair of the Commission. Clayton was approved by the Senate Banking Committee earlier this month with a vote by the Senate expected soon.
