Amazon Payments Reinstates Service To GetGayFunded.com

Get Gay Funded LogoLast month it was brought to our attention that Amazon Payments had stopped completing transactions on behalf of crowdfunding platform GetGayFunded.com. According to CEO Adam Kotkin, Amazon has now reinstated service. He has just sent the following letter:

GetGayFunded’s relationship with Amazon Payments has been reinstated effective immediately.  The last few weeks have been extremely difficult on us but, the final result is that GetGayFunded.com is back online.  To those of you that have funded projects, Amazon has agreed to release those funds to the projects as well as to continue to allow us to launch new projects.  If you or any individual/organization that you know needs to raise funds for a project that is important to the LGBT community we are here to help you reach your funding goals.

Many of you have received emails from Amazon stating that your pledge had failed. Amazon re-processed all pledges as part of our reinstatement thus, your pledge should have been appropriately credited to the project that you supported.  If you have any questions regarding your pledge please contact us at info@getgayfunded.com.

For further information on Amazon’s decision to reinstate Get Gay Funded’s credit card processing account please read the press release below.

Thank you again for supporting GetGayFunded.com as we look forward to supporting the LGBT community.

The press release is below…

DEERFIELD BEACH, FL – March 13, 2013 – After three weeks of ongoing dialog, GetGayFunded.com and Amazon Payments have reached a mutual agreement that has re-established Amazon Payments as the funding processor for LGBT projects listed on Apps Genius Corp’s GetGayFunded.com crowdfunding website. The site went live again on March 9th, said Adam Kotkin, chief executive officer of Apps Genius Corp (OTCQB: APGS), the company that developed and operates GetGayFunded.com.

In addition to re-establishing funding processing, Amazon Payments also agreed to continue processing nearly $7,000 of funds that had been pledged for nearly two dozen LGBT projects before GetGayFunded.com went dark on February 19th.

GetGayFunded.com uses AppsGenius’ proprietary crowdfunding platform and is specifically designed to meet the unique crowdfunding needs of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) community. The site is a place where both businesses and individuals can post their projects and others have the opportunity to pledge to projects they find interesting or beneficial.

“It was very important for us to work with Amazon Payments to process the money that had been pledged for those projects already,” said Kotkin. “We appreciate the tremendous outpouring of support from the public to get our website back online and we are grateful to Amazon Payments for working through this issue so GetGayFunded.com can go back to work providing much-needed funding support for LGBT community projects.”
