Mary Jo White Confirmed Unanimously By Senate

Mary Jo WhiteThe US Senate confirmed on Monday that former prosecutor and corporate attorney, Mary Jo White, will be the new Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission. The incoming Chairman was appointed by President Obama in January after Mary Schapiro stepped down, passing the mantle to temporary Chairman Elisse Walter.

In stark contrast to some of the acrimonious confirmations, Ms. White was quickly confirmed with wide, bi partisan, support.

Crowdfunding leaders are looking to Ms. White to finalize and announce regulatory approach for the Crowdfunding industry. The measure was brought into law over a year ago when President Obama signed the Jumpstart Our Business or Jobs Act.
