Crowdfunded Guitar Loog Leads to Album By 16 Year Old

Pip BlomLoog Guitar was crowdfunded on Kickstarter back in 2011 – raising a total amount of $65,618 on a goal of $15,000.  The premise was simple:  a three stringed guitar which was easy to handle and simple to learn, teaching the joy of playing a guitar to children.

The guitar was an early Kickstarter success.  Now the Loog is sparking a different type of success.  A 16 year old girl, Pip Blom, has recorded an entire album using the Loog and it is very good.

The Loog 1Pip is now selling her album on BandCamp to pay for her expenses to participate in Teenage Kicks which is a training camp for young artists.  Amsterdam based Pip indicates that if more than 150 people buy the album for 5 euro , I can buy a ticket + travel + expenses to Teenage Kicks.

On both the Loog Kickstarter page and their site blog, the team at Loog understandably are glowing over the accomplishment of Pip.

So, congratulations Pip  It’s awesome, we loved it and we’re SO proud right now – not all 16 year-olds have the tenacity and talent to pull this off. We feel like we were witnesses to something that’s just getting started and are sure you’ll be playing at Glastonbury in no time!
