Mighty No. 9 Hits Another Big Stretch Goal As Funding Flattens Out

Mighty No. 9Funding velocity for Mighty No. 9 has flattened out considerably after hitting Kickstarter like a ton of bricks on August 31st. The game raised over a million dollars within a few days and just hit two million a week ago.

Now the game has hit a $2.2 million stretch goal that promises a version of the game for three major consoles: Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii U.

The team will now set their sights set on a stretch goal at the $2.4 million funding level that would include an in-game “Challenge Mode.”

Similar to the Challenge Modes in games like New Super Mario Bros. U, this special extra mode would remix parts of existing levels and enemies to create dozens of mini-missions you can use to test your skills in a variety of enjoyably frustrating ways!

Of all the stated stretch goals, the $2.2 million goal was by far the most important. It widens the potential audience for Mighty No. 9 in a big way.

If the campaign can hit a goal of $3.3 million, the campaign creators are promising a PS4 and Xbox One version, which would bring the game to even the most modern consoles. At this point that stretch goal seems likely despite slowed funding recently as compared to early in the campaign. Velocity tends to pick up at the beginning and the end of campaigns such as this, so expect a spurt as the campaign closes in on its October 1st end date, especially in light of the newly promised features.
