On an annualized basis UK equity crowdfunding site Seedrs has experienced a phenomenal 600% growth rate. 12 campaigns have collectively raised £850,000 during the 3rd quarter on Seedrs which has set a record for number of successful campaigns and amount funded in a quarter.
Seedrs recently broke the £2 Million invested mark coming off a private funding round hosted on the site. A London based startup had attracted the deep interest of an angel syndicate. Instead of managing the administrative tasks directly the group of investors found it more cost effective to let Seedrs manage the process directly. The startup raised £150,000 on the closed offering becoming the 37th fully funded campaign since the platform launched. Seedrs will continue to hold the shares as the nominee.
This past month Seedrs racked up a series of successes including a crowdfunding record. Microco.sm, a forum platform, raised £100,000 in an astounding 2.5 hours.
Seedrs membership is free and open to all UK residents 18 or older. The platform accepts investments as little as £10 up to the full amount of the offering. The crowdfunding platform is planning to expand internationally in the near future.
Co-founded by CEO Jeff Lynn and COO Carlos Silva, Seedrs was launched in 2012 and is the first equity crowdfunding platform to receive regulatory approval by the Financial Conduct Authority (FC)
