Kickstarter Looking for Projects Now in Australia, New Zealand

Kickstarter Opening Soon in Australia and New ZealandKickstarter has charted a course of global expansion.  Recently they launched in Canada and quickly captured an impressive list of crowdfunding campaigns from the provinces up North.  They have also been talking for some time about extending their reach into other english speaking countries and as of yesterday they have launched Kickstarter New Zealand and Australia requesting project submissions with a launch date of November 13, 2013.

All projects submitted from these two countries will be integrated with all of the other Kickstarter projects from around the world.  Backers from anywhere may support Kiwi and Aussie projects just as they pledge towards campaigns anywhere else today.  Of course the transactions will be listed in Australian and New Zealand dollars.

Fees are similar to UK and Canadian projects and are as follows:

For Australia-based projects:
Pledges less than $10 AUD are charged 5% + $0.05 AUD
Pledges of $10 AUD or greater are charged 3% + $0.20 AUD
For New Zealand-based projects: 
Pledges less than $10 NZD are charged 5% + $0.05 NZD
Pledges of $10 NZD or greater are charged 3% + $0.20 NZD
kickstarterKickstarter will be hosting a series of roadshows starting with Melbourne, Brisbane, Sidney and Auckland with promises there will be more to follow.
Kickstarter is the largest rewards based platform in the world having raised over $820 Million from just under 5 Million backers.  This represents over 50,000 successfully funded projects from around the world.
