The Typist by Abraham HeislerSan Francisco filmmaker Abraham Heisler is crowdfunding a film which explores the realities of the tech obsessed world of San Francisco and he is raising funds on Pozible.  The Aussie crowdfunding platform recently landed on the shores of the US launching a yankee version of their platform.

‘The Typist’ follows a young man’s search for love and connection in San Francisco.  Heisler describes his film as “inspired by [his] own experiences living in the most tech-connected city in the world” and chose Pozible because “it was aesthetically pleasing and easy to use. I was promised help and guidance in conducting a successful Crowdfunding campaign; a promise, which the Pozible team have held true”.

The film drew talent from local SF film co-op Scary Cow – a collective of film-makers all learning through making films.

“The story of this film really caught my attention and I was thrilled that Abe chose Pozible to promote his film to the world” – Alan Crabbe, co-founder, Pozible.

The Typist on PozibleThough Heisler is running a conventional crowdfunding campaign, Pozible is set to launch both Subscription and Self-hosted crowdfunding tools in the coming weeks following the recent announcement of the opening of their San Francisco office.

Originally a native New Yorker, Abraham Heisler moved to San Francisco in order to help tell the stories of non-profit organizations and socially conscious businesses. This led to his involvement with Scary Cow Indie Film co-op, as well as his work at AMURT, an international disaster relief and community development NGO.

Heisler’s relationship to film has thus evolved since studying at Syracuse University and the New York Film Academy. With his film “Danny and the Ocean” premiering at the Los Angeles International Children’s Film Festival, “The Lotus Date” being selected to be on New York City TV show, Press Play, and his work for AMURT winning the people’s choice award in the Explore Hatch online film festival.
