The Lovemark Monument of Love was supposed to raise $175,000 just in time for Valentines Day 2014. Unfortunately the $175,000 target was a bit too steep and the project fell far short raising raising only $47,005.
Fearing momentum was not quite there, the campaign organizers made a strategic change and re-launched the crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo on February 12 (before the first campaign officially ended on the 15th) and set a more reasonable target.
On the first campaign a respectable 392 individuals contributed to the iconic architectural project. The new campaign – that has a goal of raising just $1000 – has already seen 83 backers support the cause.
The Lovemark is the “World’s first crowdfunded monument to Love”.
A physical structure built with thousands of “love cubes”. Each of the cubes may be personalized with a backers inscription. The organizers viewed the project as having the potential of creating a true, timeless, historical landmark. The final location of the structure was to be determined democratically by the campaign supporters.
The team behind the project was a global gathering of believers. Architects, designers, engineers and more. The organizers stated;
This campaign acts as the next step to our Lovemark effort. The first campaign, despite not reaching it’s romantic goal of $175,000, gathered great momentum and lots of love from its supporters.
We are committed to make Lovemark happen!
