Healbe GoBe Triples Goal of $100,000 in First Few Days of Crowdfunding Campaign.
The GoBe launched their campaign on Indiegogo on March 5, 2014. Seven days later the funding total has surpassed $321,000 with 35 days left on the campaign. Over 1790 backers have signed up to support this product to date. There are plenty of fitness trackers on the market today but the unique aspect of the GoBe is the claim that the device can automatically and accurately measure calories consumed and burned during any sort of activity. 
Most Fitness trackers available today generate a relative comparison number or a calorie burn number that is suspect at best but GoBe uses different technology with three sensors and an advanced algorithm – reading the glucose level in your cells. The GoBe also provides continuous heart monitoring that assists in tracking your metabolic rate during any activity.
Russia based Healbe Corporation unveiled its flagship product, GoBe, described as the Original 100% Automatic Body Manager. With the wearable tech market expected to grow to $5.8 billion by 2018 – the GoBe has plenty of room to grow. Entry level reward for a single GoBe is $189 and scheduled to ship in June 2014.
According to Healbe founder and CEO Artem Shipitsyn,
“We live in an age of information, and yet 98% of diets fail. Wearable technologies are trying to solve this problem, but I found that none had succeeded in making it easy for people to know whether they’re getting the right amount of food, water, exercise and sleep.”
The GoBe is a waterproof device unlike some of their competitors. GoBe communicates via Bluetooth, and users can view their data on the Healbe web page and on their smartphones using an iOS or Android compatible app. Smart tech is booming and the devices currently available on the market today have fallen short of expectations. Apple has been rumored to be launching an iWatch for years now but has been unable to execute on a product thus creating a void in quality wearable tech that GoBe hopes to fill.
