Just a few days after its exciting crowdfunding campaign launch on Kickstarter, customize smart ticker LaMetric has reached its initial goal of $69,000 and received $85,300 from 575 backers.
According to its campaign page, LaMetric is a standalone, customizable, hackable ticker that tracks key metrics and displays them in real-time. The unique clock may be set up to tell users the events on their calendar for the day, the temperature, or countdown to until birthdays.
Masterminds behind LaMetric, Smart Atoms noted,“LaMetric eliminates the need to check multiple apps or news sites for the information you need. Instead, you receive everything at a glance, all in one place, in real-time. The possibilities are endless. Perfect for homes or businesses, LaMetric is customizable through its app that allows you to combine icons; scrolling text; metrics and changes; goals; days; trends and sounds.”
LeMetric is also compatible with other popular automation tools. Smart Atoms added,”Pair LaMetric with IFTTT, SmartThings, WigWag, Ninja Blocks to display what’s happening at your home. Be alerted when your pet leaves the backyard or someone is at your door. Receive security alerts for floods, temperatures or break-ins.”
It will also have two types of API available: cloud API for developers that want to connect their web apps to the device and secure intranet API for those working in closed Intranet networks with strict security rules.
Sharing more details about the LaMetric’s components, the company wrote, “With LaMetric, we achieved a design that’s clean and simple, stylish and practical. The form factor is sized to fit well on a table, wall, shop-front or a counter. Designed for bright output in full color icon numbered in millions (7 numbers) on one screen, progress bar, full width scrolling text and smooth animations. A powerful speaker delivers sounds to every ear in the room.
“LaMetric is made up of the main board with WiFi, a LED screen, a touch button sensor board, speaker and Ethernet. Plug it in through a mini-USB power adapter and connect to your Wi-Fi or Ethernet network. You can also pledge for a LaMetric with a built-in battery (e.g. for outdoor activities like CrossFit).”
Setting up the LaMetric is easy. Simply plug it in, launch the mobile app and connect to any WiFi available to customize the user’s widget rules. After set up, everything is controlled on the user’s LaMetric with no mobile device connection necessary.
LaMetric’s Kickstarter campaign is set to close on August 1st.
