Kickstarter phenomena Coolest Cooler is now in 6th place in the list of most successful crowdfunding campaigns ever on the Kickstarter platform. Its about $1 million away from #5 (Reading Rainbow).
The funding raised for the “portable party disguised as a cooler” today stands at over $4.3 million supported by over 22,000 backers. The campaign launched like a rocket ship and hasn’t looked back. This from a campaign that failed last year but has risen like a phoenix from crowdfunding ashes to become one of the most successful campaigns ever – with a velocity sufficient to become number one.
The fact this campaign has taking only 6 days to raise this amount of money is simply amazing. The project has 46 days to go and is scheduled to close on August 29th, but with this type of velocity who knows how high it will go.
To put this in perspective:
- Coolest Cooler hit their initial goal of raising just $5o,ooo in 36 hours.
- The campaign is averaging approximately $700,000 per day
- Over 3700 backers per day on average
