HWTrek to Bring Wireless 3D Headphone to Market After Kickstarter Success

Hooke 3d SoundHWTrek, a platform providing an ecosystem for digital electronics, has announced that Hooke, a Brooklyn, NY-based audio innovation lab, has selected HWTrek Product Development Hub (PDH) to manage and monitor its project of the same name’s progress to mass production. Hooke, the first Bluetooth headphone to provide high quality audio playback and “record 3D audio”, surpassed its $100,000 Kickstarter goal early this week with over a week to go.  3D audio is the ability to record sound just as you hear it as opposed to conventional devices that lack perspective.

Hooke 3d headphones“Conventional recording techniques leave sound flat and degraded. Hooke is changing this by unleashing the power of 3D audio recording to capture dynamic sound with full depth. The magic is in the microphones, which are precisely positioned in each ear bud to record sound 360°, exactly as you would hear it live,” said former sound designer and Hooke Founder, Anthony Mattana. “We needed some serious electronics and HWTrek was able to meet our rigorous requirements, providing unparalleled support for the RFQ process to source for the right supply chain partners, and helping to more effectively keep track of the product’s progress through every stage of development.”

Lucas Wang“We are thrilled that Hooke is using our Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) tool that’s designed to handhold startups through the process of developing Internet of Things and wearables,” said Lucas Wang, CEO and Co-founder, HWTrek. “Not only does Hooke receive a unique schedule and production plan with realistic timelines, Hooke can also reach out to mentors within the HWTrek community to seek advice, from crowdfunding to marketing.”

HWTrek will also help Hooke source for supply chain partners and prep the product for manufacturing. HWTrek’s program assists hardware developers with the RFQ process with supply chain vendors, including the initial feasibility evaluation, manufacturer audit, quotation negotiation and cost-saving recommendations.

HWTrek LogoHWTrek also offers hardware developers with virtual project management in Asia, including monitoring the day-to-day operations, making sure everything is done timely and of good quality, as well as handholding project creators through the entire process to successful mass production.
