Access to Capital for Women Owned Businesses (Infographic)

National Womens Business CouncilThe National Women’s Business Council (NWBC) has generated an infographic packed full of information regarding different options for access to capital for businesses.  The NWBC is a non-partisan advisory council that seeks to promote women in business by counseling the SBA, the President, Congress and anyone else that can help influence the situation.

Women and CrowdfundingWhile the graphic is more than a bit busy, there is some good information here showing alternatives and asking questions for women owned enterprises.  Yes crowdfunding is incorporated as an option.  We would like to point out that initial research indicates that crowdfunding is powerful tool for women something we wholeheartedly embrace.  It is also interesting to note that on rewards based platforms women are 13% more likely than men to hit their funding goal.

This infographic is part of a larger study by the NWBC that gives evidence that male based businesses launch with nearly twice as much capital as women.  Apparently this trend is even larger in the “top 25 firms”.

McKinsey states there is an intrinsic need for more women in business. Crowdfunding can aid in this quest.  As crowdfunding continues to grow we hope to see more women led enterprises and thank the NWBC for providing this information.
