Prong, Inc., the fast growing company that is changing the way that smartphone users keep their devices charged, announced today that it has closed a $1.6 million Series A financing led by Georgia Oak Partners.

Prong 1Prong’s flagship product, the PocketPlug iPhone case, introduced the world to its “no cords necessary” mantra with its built-in, A/C charging plugs for easy on-the-go charging. The PocketPlug launched on Kickstarter and quickly gathered steam, receiving praise from publications including the New York Times, Washington Post, CNET, Gizmodo and Engadget. Prong will launch its revolutionary PWR case in February 2015, which incorporates a detachable back-up battery with built-in plugs into an iPhone case.

“We have some very exciting products launching in 2015 and now our partnership with Georgia Oak will allow us to continue our focus on delivering innovative products,” Prong co-Founder Jesse Pliner explained. “Georgia Oak’s track record of adding hands-on value to its investments was really important to us and has already added significant energy to Prong’s mission.”

Managing partner of Georgia Oak, Mike Lonergan shared, “We are very excited to be a part of Prong’s promising future. The relationship between smartphone users and their devices is growing stronger by the day. Mobile phones are now much more than a means to conduct a voice conversation…they are now personal connectivity hubs.

Prong 4“Smartphones provide immediate access to breaking news and information, high quality streaming media, financial payment platforms, on-demand commerce systems, health monitoring applications, the list goes on. Prong’s pipeline of innovative power products will offer the ultimate solution to support the increasingly strong bond we all have with our smartphones.”
