RealtyMogul continues to hire aggressively with the new appointment of Timothy Li as its Chief Information Officer. The announcement comes just as the real estate crowdfunding platform raised $35 million in a Series B Funding round led by Sorenson earlier this month.
Li previously served in senior roles in various financial firms. Li was EVP and General Manager of Consumer Lending for loanDepot; Chief Risk Officer at Quick Bridge Funding; SVP, Chief Analytics Officer at Think Finance; and VP, Risk Director at JPMorgan Chase. His experience includes roles as a Mathematical Engineer at Intel Corporation and counseling companies like Hello Soda, Domuso, Blinker App, Kabbage, Inc. and Mosaic as either a board member, committee member or in an advisory role.
Li earned his B.S. degree in engineering and mathematics from San Jose State University and his M.S. degree in mathematical optimization from the University of Southern California. He attended Harvard Business School’s program for leadership development. He holds a patent for Systems and methods for distribution of cash.
“I am excited to immediately contribute to RealtyMogul.com by focusing on technology and risk management,” said Li. “We will continue to integrate our technology with new data providers to gather data points needed to accurately address risk for each transaction and increase our speed of underwriting and funding new investments. We believe in complete transparency, providing greater access of data to our borrowers, sponsors and capital partners to make informed decisions. On top of data, we will be deploying predictive analytics to increase the confidence of our borrowers and capital partners and measure operational performance to maximize our efficiencies.”
Li is said to be responsible for combining information, technology and predictive analytics to enable RealtyMogul to connect capital partners with real estate professionals through the company’s technology platform.
RealtyMogul co-founder and CEO Jilliene Helman said Li is a great compliment to executive staff.
“He has the perfect combination of skills and experience in technology, risk, marketing and operations. He successfully launched a number of lending products, as well as advised peer-to-peer crowdfunding and alternative financing startups. For me, hiring Tim as our CIO is a meaningful addition,” said Helman.
RealtyMogul offers both debt and equity investments in real estate. The platform has raised over $80 million to date.
