Future Asia Ventures has published an updated report on corporate accelerator programs. We last received an update in December stating that 31 corporate accelerators were launched during the most recent tally. New launches were described as at a “fever pitch” with Asia poised to experience impressive growth. We now have a full year perspective from FSV, and according to their report, 45 were launched around the globe – the most ever in a single year. Hottest categories? Technology (23) and Financial Services (21). The Fintech sector is said to have over 6000 startups worldwide.
The global total number of corporate accelerators stands at 116. In Europe, the UK leads the way with 19. Germany is second at 12. In Asia, the hotspots are Singapore, Hong Kong and Bangalore.
